Elderly Care – Companionship Care Bexhill

Elderly Home Care by Seniors Helping Seniors

Companionship, relationship, and connection form the foundation of our home care services.

Our experienced, carefully vetted and fully insured senior helpers are carefully matched to a client’s needs, personality, interests and hobbies.  We strike the balance between practical assistance with daily activities and spending quality time with the person we are supporting. Each visit is at least an hour long to ensure things are not rushed.

We visit clients in their homes in Eastbourne, Hastings, Bexhill-on-Sea and many other Rother locations. Companionship care allows the client to feel empowered and in control of the help they receive as they are very much in charge.

Companionship visits are not limited to the home, we support our clients in doing the things they love outside of the home too. We enjoy helping our clients remain physically active and participate in social activities. Our caregivers are all local people with good local knowledge and can suggest and accompany clients on outings.

What can companionship care in Bexhill look like?

Visits to the De La Warr pavilion are a regular feature for many of our clients, either to enjoy the wonderful views from the café upstairs, or the various creative exhibitions and screenings. A stroll or drive along Bexhill seafront usually involves a stop to enjoy an ice cream or hot drink, or even fish and chips. Egerton Park and Bowls club is also a favourite.

For some of our clients, a quiet drive around to take in the sights is enough, we are mindful and respectful of what people need, whilst being encouraging and supportive.

We were contacted by S.C.’s family as they were concerned that the once bubbly, intelligent, independent lady, had become lonely and lost her confidence to go out alone. She had a few good neighbours who would check in on her, but S.C. felt that she couldn’t rely on them and wanted the reliability of knowing she would have regular visits.

After visiting S.C. and getting to know her, we matched her with a companion carer, hitting it off straight away. S.C. was visited weekly by her caregiver who would take her out for a couple of hours each time. S.C. had lots of fond memories of all the places she used to visit with her husband before he died, so each week, her companion caregiver would take her to a different place she used to visit with her husband. There was usually tea and cake involved as well as a garden centre or stroll along the seafront.

As S.C.’s needs started to change, her companion caregiver was able to support her with various activities at home, including changing her bedding, shopping and laundry.
